Seeking expert advice – Barriers and opportunities for the use of AI-based tools to predict response to cancer therapy.

AI-based tools are currently being developed in numerous projects to predict a patient’s response to cancer therapy based on various factors such as e.g., the genetic mutations in the tumor or levels of proteins. This raises important questions, e.g.,:

·         What are the benefits and drawbacks of using AI-based prediction tools in cancer care?

·         How can the perspectives of patients and health care professionals be integrated in the development and implementation of such tools?

·         What needs should be considered when developing AI-based prediction tools?

·         What should decisionmakers consider when implementing AI in health care?

MULTIR invites representatives from patient organizations and professional societies, as well as clinicians, oncologists, and any other interested stakeholder in Europe to share their views on the use of AI-based tools to predict response to cancer therapy. Results from this work will inform the development of recommendations that comply with the needs of patients and healthcare professionals. MULTIR will share the recommendations with relevant national and European authorities and policymakers.

Are you interested in sharing your perspectives with us? Let’s set up an interview!

The interview will be conducted online in English or French using Teams and will last approx. 45 minutes. We will use qualitative research methods to analyze the interviews. Your specific views will be anonymous. This study has been approved by the data protection officer at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and all the necessary privacy and security considerations are taken.

Your contribution /your organization’s contribution will be acknowledged as agreed with you, e.g., by adding the organization’s logo to the recommendations. We will share with you aggregate results and draft recommendations in 2025/2026.
