About

The Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA) is one of the major non profit research institutes in Greece dedicated to understanding, treating, and preventing human ailments through biomedical research. The MULTIR Group Leader, Dr Antonia Vlahou, is a clinical proteomics expert having served as Coordinator in three EU funded projects, including the FP7 project entitled “Translation of novel Biomarkers for Bladder Cancer for clinical outcome prediction”. She has also served as external expert for biomarker qualification at the European Medicines Agency and as Board Member in the European Society of Urological Research.

Role in the Project

Besides proteomics analysis, the team compiles expertise in transcriptomics data processing and multi-omics integrative analysis. In the context of MULTIR the BRFAA team will lead the -omics data collection and curation from existing resources with further contributions in network analysis and experimental verification of predicted models.
